What crosses your mind when you hear about the word "pH"? High School chemistry? Acid rain? or some skin care products or soap? Do you know that pH plays a very important role in our body too?
How important pH Balance is to our health? According to a study conducted by the University of Tokyo, out of a Saliva pH Test for a sample group 600 cancer patients, as much as 90% of them have acidic saliva and 85% are of critically low acidic pH below 5.8! This shocking discovery is a strong proof that Acidosis can be very dangerous to our health.
What is Acidosis? It all begin from the blood. Your blood is acidic or alkaline, it all depends on the ratio of minerals in your blood. Calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium are alkaline minerals that will keep your blood pH on the high side while phosphoric acid, uric acid, fatty acid, carbonic acid and amino acid are some of the acidic minerals that lower down your blood pH.
The sad fact is, our modern diet which is high protein, high carbohydrate, fat rich are all acidic food which will increase the acidic minerals in our body. Alkaline food such as vegetables and fruits is neglected by most of the people especially the younger generation. That's why we notice the scary trend that modern diseases such as high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, gout, and even cancer are creeping into younger generation. 20 years ago, we were shocked to hear that someone get cancer at the age of 30. But now it has become a norm for most and we are starting to think that is what is should be. It shouldn't!
It's easy to tell whether someone is having acidic blood or not. Those who are suffering from acidosis tend to get tired easily and they yawn a lot during the day. If you pay attention to their blood during blood transfusion or blood test withdrawal, you can see that their blood is thick (high viscosity) and dark red color. For your information, Oxygenated blood is glowing red in color and thin (low viscosity) which flow easily. And remember that blood's job is to transport oxygen and nutrients to body cells and remove toxic waste chemicals from the cells to get rid off from the body through sweating, urination, etc. Acidic blood will reduce the efficiency transportation which will eventually leads to unhealthy respiration and metabolism.
I strongly advice you to start paying attention to balance the pH of your body. Kindly spend some to do some study on the pH of your food and read up on Ionized Alkaline Water.
